Lucas Glover was born in Greenville, SC on November 12, 1979. He credits his grandfather, Dick Hendley, for giving him his start in golf, as he gave Glover a cut-down club when he was three and first took him to the Masters at age six. Glover loved the game and proceeded to play golf for Clemson University where he helped the Clemson program to four top-10 national finishes, including a second-place finish in 1998 and a third-place finish in 2001. Glover and Hendley are the first grandfather and grandson hall of fame combination in Clemson athletic history (Hendley was inducted in 1984, playing football and baseball at Clemson from 1946-51). Glover then turned pro in 2001.
Today he lives in Jupiter, FL with his wife and children. When not on the golf course or at the range, Glover is an avid Clemson Tiger fan and can often be found with his wife shuttling between softball tournaments (for their daughter) and hockey tournaments (for their son).
Glover is a passionate supporter of Mia's Miracles, dedicated to bringing smiles and positivity to children and families facing challenging circumstances, and of the Heritage Classic Foundation, a charity that works to elevate the long-term economic, social and cultural life of South Carolina. Be sure to check them out and join the commitment to these causes!
One of today's longest-standing PGA TOUR card holders, Glover looks forward to a great 2024-2025 season, which includes his 11th career start at the Masters Tournament.
Glover was a three-time All-American at Wade Hampton High, earning two state championships. As an amateur, he won the South Carolina Amateur in 1998, 1999 and 2000 and was a part of the 2001 Walker Cup team. He proceeded to be a three-time All-American at Clemson between 1998-2001 and was inducted into the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
Glover was inducted into the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame and received the Order of the Palmetto in 2024, the State of South Carolina's highest civilian honor meant to recognize a lifetime of extraordinary achievement on a national or statewide scale.
In addition to winning the 2009 PGA Grand Slam of Golf, he is a six-time PGA TOUR winner:
